About this double stone stud earrings

Each earring is built in two tiers. The main bezel holds a large oval cabochon, cut as a smooth dome, and immediately below it a second, lower run of small clear stones follows the bottom edge — so the stone is framed from beneath rather than set in a plain circle. The frame is worked in gold tone, which reads warm against all three stones and keeps the pair from looking like a plain stud.

The three colourways run from deep blue to warm brown with light banding, to pale with dark flecks; all three are natural stones, so the pattern inside each cabochon differs piece to piece. The clear stones in the lower row are cubic zirconia, not diamond, which keeps the colour even across a run. A post and butterfly sit behind the frame, so the earring stays flat against the lobe.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Questions about this double stone stud earrings

Why is it called a double stone stud?

Because there are two stone levels on each earring: a large oval cabochon in the main bezel, and a lower row of small clear stones running along the bottom edge.

Are the stones natural?

The main cabochon is a natural stone, in three colourways, so pattern varies between pieces. The small stones in the lower row are cubic zirconia, not a natural stone.

Can I order one colour only?

Yes. Each colourway is quoted as its own line, so you can take a single colour or a colour set. Ask us for a quote on the colours you want.

Are the posts steel too?

The frames and posts are 316L stainless steel, in gold tone. We do not publish metal tests or certificates here; if your market needs a specific test, raise it at quote stage.
