The pieces are matched at the design stage and plated in one batch so the colour is consistent across the set, which is the whole reason a set can be sold above what the pieces would fetch separately.

Sets sell for two reasons: the customer gets a coordinated look without deciding, and a gift becomes presentable without extra work. Both are worth paying for, and both are why we publish the set price next to the sum of the individual pieces rather than hiding it.
The packaging line is where sets quietly get expensive. A printed box, a card, a pouch and a ribbon add cost per unit and freight volume per carton, so we quote them separately — and we will say plainly when a set would be cheaper to sell as two items with a pouch instead.
