925 Sterling Silver rings, sized for your market before they ship

Rings are the hardest category to get right, because sizing is where the returns live. We quote the size run, the band width and the metal weight per design, and we will tell you which sizing standard your market actually uses.

How to buy this category

A ring is the only piece of jewellery that has to fit a measurement, which makes it the one category where a design can be perfect and the order still fails. Sizes differ by market — US, EU (ISO), UK alphabetical, and the Chinese and Japanese numberings all describe the same finger differently — so the first question on any ring order is which standard your customer reads.

The second variable is band width, and it is where weight goes. A 2 mm band on a size 7 is around half the metal of a 6 mm band on the same finger, and in sterling silver that difference shows up directly in the price because metal is the main cost. We publish the width and the weight together so the quote is checkable rather than a number to argue with.

  • ✓Sizes quoted in the standard your market reads — US, EU/ISO, UK or JP
  • ✓Band width and metal weight stated on the drawing and on the quote
  • ✓Half sizes at no extra cost on made-to-order runs
  • ✓Comfort-fit (rounded inside) available — the standard for everyday-wear rings

Material

What you are specifying

FactDetail
HardnessSofter than 316L steel — we keep ring bands at 1.2 mm or above
TarnishSilver sulphides darken it in air; rhodium flash or anti-tarnish e-coat slows this
FinishesHigh polish, satin, brushed, oxidised black, rhodium, 18K gold plate
SettingsProng, bezel, pavé, channel, flush
Size run decisionWhat we recommend
Single size, sized to your specBest for made-to-order: your assay sizes dictate the run, no dead stock
A spread of 5–7 sizesBest for stock: covers most fingers but leaves you carrying the extremes
Band width1.2–2 mm for a delicate stack ring; 3–6 mm for a signet; 8 mm or more for a statement band
Sizing methodWe send a ring gauge or a printable sizer with the sample so your own team can confirm

Rings FAQ

Questions about rings in sterling silver

Which sizing standard should I order in?
Order in the standard your customer already reads, not the one your factory finds easiest. North America reads US numeric, most of Europe and Japan read diameter in millimetres (ISO 8653), the UK reads letters. We will confirm each size against a gauge before production, and the confirmation goes on the approved drawing so there is no dispute later.
What is the difference in cost between a thin and a wide band?
Almost entirely metal. In sterling silver a 2 mm band and a 6 mm band on the same size differ roughly three-fold in metal content, and since metal is the dominant cost of the piece, that difference shows up directly in your unit price. We quote both widths against the same drawing so you can see the step rather than guess it.
Can you size the whole order to one size, or do I need a size run?
Both work, and the right answer depends on how you sell. If you sell made-to-order or preorder, size everything to your assay and avoid dead stock entirely. If you hold inventory, a 5–7 size spread is the norm — just accept that the extremes sit on the shelf longest.
Do you make adjustable or open rings?
Yes. An open or overlapping band gives roughly two sizes of adjustment, which lets a buyer hold one SKU instead of five. It works best in brass and 316L because a softer silver band is easier to deform with repeated opening — we will say so if it is the wrong material for the design.
