A brooch is the smallest item on this site and the one most often returned for the wrong reason: the buyer assumed a magnet, or a bar pin, and got the other. So every design here states its fixing, and states its steel grade, before you order.

Range
MOQ 50 pcs per design. Fixing and grade are written on every spec line.

A gold-tone 304 steel bird brooch cut from flat metal as a bird in flight, from a small family of animal and motif shapes, on a pin post with a butterfly clutch.

A gold-tone 304 steel airplane brooch cut as an airliner silhouette, fixed with a pin post so it holds a lapel, cap or bag without a magnet.

Two gold-tone 304 steel brooches in one line — an elephant and a bird in flight — each cut from flat metal and fixed with a pin post.

Enamel hummingbird brooches in several colourways plus a flower-and-hummingbird design — 304 stainless steel, quoted per brooch.

A four-petal lily brooch in polished 316L steel — gold tone (electroplated) or steel tone, with a bar pin and safety catch; quoted per piece.

An irregular oval brooch with a rippled, water-worn face and one round opening — gold tone over 316L steel, with a bar pin and safety catch.
Brooches
There are two fixings in this range and they are not interchangeable. A bar pin with a rotating safety catch sits flat on a lapel or a scarf and can be pinned through a knit without a backing. A pin post with a butterfly clutch needs a small amount of fabric to grip and is the cheaper construction. We say which one each design uses on its own page, because a buyer who ordered the wrong one finds out at the customer, not at the sample.
The second thing worth knowing is grade. Part of this line is made in 304 stainless steel and part in 316L. Both are stainless and both take the same gold tone, but they are not the same material, and the difference matters if a piece will sit against skin in a coastal or chlorinated environment. Each design page names the grade it is made in; if you need 316L on a design that is currently 304, ask and we will quote it rather than substitute.

| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Water resistance | No tarnish or green marking; salt water and sweat resistant |
| Magnet test | Unreliable on finished pieces — worked 316L reads slightly magnetic |
| Plating | PVD in a vacuum chamber, ion plating for colour, electroplating in a tank |
| Coating thickness | Stated in microns on the quotation, per item |
