About this amber cabochon u-studs
This stud is cut from a flat plate as an open U, so the silhouette reads as a shield or a wide horseshoe rather than a solid disc. The two arms of the U rise on either side and hold a single oval cabochon across the top of the opening, where the polished resin catches the light.
The cabochon is amber-coloured resin, not a natural amber stone, which is why the colour and the internal swirl stay even across a production run instead of varying piece to piece. The plate and the setting are 316L stainless steel; the finish shown is gold tone, and the same design can be run in steel tone.
