The shape is geometric: a french hook carries a small stone-set detail on its front, then opens into a wide U-shaped bar, and from the bar two strands drop, each strung with rectangular stone bars stacked in a line and finished with a tiny gold ball. The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design.
