Both designs use the same idea: the stone sits at the front of the lobe and a second run of stones hangs behind it on a curved arm, so the earring reads as a small sculpture from the side and as a cluster from the front. Because the back piece is carried on its own arm rather than hanging free, it stays in place as the head turns. Every stone is a marquise cut, which keeps the two designs in the same visual family even though one is dense and one is sparse.
Design A stacks three marquise stones into a bud at the front and opens the back into a three-part leaf fan. Design B keeps the front to a single marquise and lets the back trail a slim branch of smaller marquise along the lower edge. The grade, in plain terms
Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.
Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design.
