About this rhinestone cuban collar

This is a jewellery chain adapted into a collar, and it should be bought as one. The links are Cuban — flattened, closely set, lying flat against the neck — and the stones are set into that flat face, which is why the collar reads as a band rather than as a chain with things hanging off it. Sizes run by neck circumference at 20, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 cm; there is no 25 cm step and no extension link in this version, so the size you pick is the size you get.

Price on this collar is decided by two things: the plating and the stone setting. The chain is alloy, so every finish is a plate over base metal, and the plate on a collar takes far more abrasion than on a necklace because it rubs on fur and on the neck all day — that is the first thing to fail and the first thing to ask about. Questions about this rhinestone cuban collar

How do I read the sizes?

They are neck circumference: the distance around the neck where the collar sits. Measure the animal, not an old collar laid flat — a chain measured flat reads longer than the neck it goes around.

Why is there no 25 cm size?

The range steps 20, 30, 35 and up. If your market needs a 25 cm, tell us and we will ask what the line can be built in rather than quote a size that does not exist.

Is the clasp safe for a dog that pulls?

No. It is a lobster clasp, which closes on a trigger and does not release under load, but it is not a load-bearing fitting and the chain is decorative. This collar is for display and supervised wear, not for walking or tying out.

What wears out first?

The plating on the link edges, because a collar rubs on fur and neck all day. Stone loss comes second and starts at the links nearest the joints, where the chain flexes. Plating build is quoted per micron for this reason.
