About this gold cuban collar

This is a curb-link chain with rhinestones set along every link, so the shine comes from the stone line rather than from a pendant. It is offered as a graded run from XS to 5XL, which means the link itself gets larger as the size goes up and the proportions stay right at both ends of the run. That is worth knowing before you compare quotes: a graded run is tooled per size, so it is quoted as a size run, not as one chain cut to five lengths. Gold tone is the design the shape is drawn around, with silver and rose gold tone on the same construction.

The base is zinc alloy with a plated finish, and the stones are rhinestones set into the links — this is a decorative collar, not a stainless steel working collar, and we would rather say so than let a spec sheet imply otherwise. Two closures sit at the back: the primary clasp plus a safety catch, so the collar cannot come off by itself. Questions about this gold cuban collar

Is this collar stainless steel?

No. The base is zinc alloy with a plated finish, and the stones are rhinestones. We keep stainless steel for the designs that are actually steel, so a spec sheet never says one thing and the goods another.

Does the clasp release if the dog pulls?

No. There are two closures — the primary clasp and a safety catch — and both have to be opened by hand. Treat this as a display or supervised-wear collar, and do not list it as a safety release collar.

What is a graded XS–5XL run?

The link is scaled per size, so a 5XL collar is not simply an XS chain with links removed. That is why a graded run is quoted as a run: if you only need two sizes, say which, and we quote those.

Will the plating wear at the clasp?

That is the wear point on any plated alloy collar, because the clasp and the link joints rub. Tell us the handling you expect and we quote the plating thickness that suits it rather than a generic finish.
