About this longevity lock collar

The piece is a small cast lock with beads either side, in zinc alloy, strung on a woven cord rather than a chain. That changes how it hangs: the cord follows the neck and the lock sits flat at the front, which is why this reads as a charm piece rather than as a stone collar. The red cord is the only colourway, so the design carries on the lock shape and the bead spacing rather than on a colour run.

It is also the one design in this group that genuinely adjusts, because the slider moves along the cord and holds where it is set — there is no clasp to open and close, and nothing springs open under load. That is a different claim from a breakaway buckle: a slider keeps the collar on, it does not let go. So set the size and check the fit before it goes on the animal, and do not sell it as a release collar. The cord is the wear part — it is textile, it will fray at the slider if the ends are not finished, and it should not stay wet.

Questions about this longevity lock collar

Why are the sizes in body weight and not centimetres?

Because that is how this design was published, and the cord adjusts. If you need a neck circumference range for a shop size chart, ask us and we will confirm the slider travel rather than quote a figure that is only right at one setting.

Does the slider release if the dog pulls?

No. A slider sets the fit and holds it; it does not open under load and it is not a breakaway buckle. Set the size before the collar goes on, and treat it as a supervised-wear piece.

What is the lock and bead made of?

Zinc alloy, plated. It is not stainless steel. The cord is a woven textile, and it is the part that will wear first.

Can the cord get wet?

It is a textile cord, so keep it dry. Wet cord and a slider that stays damp is how these come back — tell your buyers to take it off for baths and swimming.
