About this pearl c-huggie earring range

This is a range, not one earring: three designs built on the same short C hoop. The first is covered almost edge to edge with small pearl-finish beads, each in its own cup setting, so the hoop reads as a bead band with gold showing only at the gaps. The second keeps the same bead size but alternates it with a large round clear stone in a prong setting, and runs a line of small stones along the shank behind them, so the front is bright and the back is still detailed. The third goes the other way: a smooth, noticeably thicker hoop with a polished face and just four small beads set into it, two on the outer curve and one towards each end.

The three sit at different price points because the labour is different, not because the metal is. Bead-setting the full hoop takes the most work; alternating stones need the prong settings and the paved shank; the smooth hoop is the simplest piece and the heaviest in metal. Because it is a range, you take the designs you sell and we quote per design, per pair — there is no need to take all three.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Is this one pair or three?

Three designs. This is a range on one C-hoop shape — a bead-set pair, a bead-and-stone pair and a smooth pair — and each design is quoted as its own line.

Are the beads real pearls?

No. They are finished beads with a pearl lustre, not grown or natural pearls, which is why the tone stays consistent from pair to pair.

Which design is the heaviest?

Design C, the smooth hoop. It has no setting labour on the face and carries its weight in metal, which is why it is the simplest of the three to produce.

Can I take one design only?
