The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. What is the stone?

A round polished stone bead. The property sheet does not name a mineral, so we describe them by colour — a blue and a brown colourway. If you need a specific mineral or shade, tell us and we will quote it separately.

How is this different from your disc hoops?

The disc rope hoops thread flat metal discs around the hoop. Here the hoop is ringed with round stone beads that sit like petals, so both the material and the look are different.
