About this dome hoop earrings

These are a single style of hoop earring, not a mixed set. The shape is what sets them apart: instead of a flat, thin hoop, the outer face is domed, so the hoop reads as a rounded, solid band with a high-polish mirror finish that throws light across its curve. Domed, high-polish face	The outer face is domed rather than flat, so the hoop reads as a rounded band; the mirror polish is what gives it its reflection.

316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Questions about this dome hoop earrings

Is it one design or a set?

One design, sold as a pair. It is a single domed hoop style; the listing runs in the sizes and finishes you order, not as a mixed pack.

What grade of steel is it, and is it hypoallergenic?

It is 316L stainless steel, the grade family also sold as SUS316L and the grade specified for surgical implants. It is hypoallergenic for most wearers and does not react with skin. It does contain nickel, around 10-14%, tightly bound in the alloy, so it stays low-sensitising for most wearers.

Do you supply a mill test report?

This line is listed by grade and design, without a standing certificate. If your market needs a mill test report (MTR), tell us before the order and we confirm what we can obtain; we do not promise one in advance. A magnet is only a rough check, since 316L is largely non-magnetic.
