Yes, if the metal is kept at a sensible thickness, which is how we draw it. The cut-away reduces the weight rather than the structure, so the flower keeps its shape in normal wear. We would not go below the thickness we set on the drawing, and we confirm the piece on the approved sample before the run continues.
Will it be heavy for a big earring?
That is exactly what the openwork is for: because the metal is cut away through the petals, the earring weighs a fraction of a solid piece at the same size, so a large flower stays comfortable. The post is steel, and the weight is confirmed per pair on the sample so there is no surprise.
Will the gold tone wear off?
