About this cuban chain anklet

This is a Cuban link chain made to be worn at the ankle. The links are flat and curbed, set tight so the chain lies flat against the skin rather than twisting into a second line, and the run is offered in a graduated range of widths so a buyer can pick the weight their market sells. A standard extension chain is fitted as standard, so the same piece adjusts to the ankle it is worn on.

Every width is quoted as its own line, so there is no need to carry the whole range. The chain is 316L stainless steel, a marine grade alloy that does not tarnish and is hypoallergenic for most wearers; it is shower-safe and fine for the pool and beach, so the anklet suits summer and holiday ranges as well as everyday wear.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Is this an anklet or a bracelet?

It is an ankle chain, made and sized to be worn at the ankle. The same Cuban chain can be run as a bracelet if you prefer, but this line is quoted for the ankle and comes with an extension chain.

Which width should I order?

It is a range, so pick the width your market sells — each width is quoted as its own line. Ask us for a quote and we will confirm which widths are in production now.

Can I wear it swimming or in the shower?

Yes. The chain is 316L stainless steel, so it does not tarnish and is shower-safe and fine for the pool and beach. It is also hypoallergenic for most wearers, and the alloy is non-magnetic.
