This family is built on layers. One strand carries the detail — a run of small gold-toned ball beads spaced along a fine chain, or a line of butterflies and hearts, some of them finished with a pale inlay. The second strand is a plain chain laid over the first, and both are held by the same clasp, so the layers stay together and cannot twist apart. Because only the detail strand changes, the same construction covers both a bead anklet and a butterfly anklet.
The piece is 316L stainless steel throughout with a gold-tone electroplated finish, and it closes with a lobster clasp and an extension chain. The grade, in plain terms
Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.
Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Is this a bracelet or an ankle chain?
It is an ankle chain, built to sit at the ankle and ordered to your size with an extension chain for adjustment. The same layered build can be made as a bracelet on request if you want it for the wrist.
How do the two strands stay together?
Both strands are caught by the same lobster clasp, so the layer cannot twist apart or slide out of line, and the extension chain sits behind the clasp so the wearer fine-tunes the fit.
Are the pale motifs pearl or enamel?
They are not pearl. Where a motif carries a pale inlay, tell us which design you want and we confirm the inlay material and finish at quoting, so nothing is assumed.
Can it be worn in water?
Yes. 316L stainless steel with a gold-tone finish is made for everyday wear, including a shower or a swim; plating thickness is confirmed at quoting.
