About this cross pendant anklet

This is a single-strand ankle chain with one motif. A fine link chain runs the whole way round and a flat, plain-faced cross is set at the centre front, so the motif sits flat against the skin rather than swinging. The cross has a polished face with no stone, and the chain is the same fine link the rest of the line uses, so it stays light on the ankle. It is one strand and one clasp.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design.
