About this multi-stone station necklace

This is a station necklace: small coloured stone chips are spaced along a fine gold-toned chain, so colour runs from the collarbone down the run rather than sitting in one setting. At the front the chain gathers into a gold-toned ring, with a chip drop below it and a fine tail that carries further chips down the chest.

It is a different idea from our multi-colour bead necklace. That piece is a close run of small uniform round beads on a cord; here the stones are irregular chips set well apart as stations on a fine chain, with a ring centre and a tail, so the piece stays light and reads as a single threaded line. The stones are supplied as coloured stone; a specified mineral is quoted separately.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. If your market needs documentation with the goods, tell us and we will confirm what is available on this design before you order.
