The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Do I have to order all four charms?

No. Each charm is quoted as its own line, so you can take the round disc alone or the heart alone. The listing simply holds them together; ask us which are in production now and we will confirm before you commit.

What are the beads made of?

They are small stone beads in mixed colour. We describe them as stone rather than naming a gemstone, and confirm the shade per strand, so what you approve is what arrives. The clear stone in the charm is cubic zirconia, not a natural stone.
