Three bangles: one engraved steel, two resin

A range of three hard bangles in the same gold tone, built three different ways. One is solid 316L steel, wide-faced and open at the back, with a floral relief running right around the outside. The other two are wide resin bangles — one ivory with two green cabochons, one tortoise brown with three white oval cabochons — each stone in a gold-tone bezel.

Overview

About this bangle range: engraved and resin

This is a range, not one bangle: three designs, each quoted and packed as its own line. Design A is a wide-faced bangle in solid steel, open at the back and covered across its whole outer face with a raised floral relief that carries round the curve and onto the ends. Designs B and C are wide bangles cast in resin: B in ivory, with two green cabochons set in gold-tone bezels, and C in tortoise brown, with three white oval cabochons spaced around the face. All three are hard bangles with no clasp — they are slipped over the hand, not fastened.

The material differs across the range, and it is worth being plain about it: only design A is a steel bangle. B and C are resin bodies with gold-tone metal bezels, which is what gives them their depth of colour and their much lighter weight. Where steel is used — the whole of A, and the bezels and inner band of B and C — it is 316L stainless steel, the grade family also sold as SUS316L, so it does not tarnish. The gold is a gold tone plating over the metal, with plating thickness quoted per micron; on B and C the colour of the body is cast into the resin itself.

Materials and plating

OptionWhat it means
316L stainless steelDesign A is 316L stainless steel throughout, a marine-grade alloy with molybdenum at roughly 2-3% and chromium at 16-18%, which is why it does not tarnish. On B and C the steel is in the bezels and the inner band, not in the body.
ResinDesigns B and C are cast in resin: the colour and the tortoise pattern sit in the material itself, and the body is light and warm on the wrist. Resin is not steel, and these two designs are not plated steel bangles.
Gold tone (electroplated)The gold is an electroplated gold tone over the metal parts, not a PVD bond; plating thickness is quoted per micron.

316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. If your market needs documentation with the goods, tell us and we will confirm what is available on this design before you order.

How to tell 316L from 304 and 201 →

Property316L stainless steel
Designation316L (AISI/ASTM) · SUS316L under JIS · 1.4404 under EN
CompositionChromium 16–18%, nickel 10–14%, molybdenum 2–3%, carbon 0.03% max
Why 316L and not 304 or 201Molybdenum is what resists chlorides, and neither of the cheaper grades contains any
Tarnish and rustDoes not tarnish, and does not rust from everyday wear, sweat or water
SkinHypoallergenic for most wearers, and not nickel-free — it contains 10–14% nickel by specification
Specified forSurgical implants (ASTM F138) and marine fittings, which is where the “surgical” and “marine grade” labels come from

FAQ

Questions about this bangle range: engraved and resin

Are all three bangles steel?
No. Only design A is a solid 316L steel bangle. Designs B and C are cast resin bodies with gold-tone steel bezels and inner band — the colour on those two is in the resin, not a plating over steel.
What is in the range?
Three designs: a wide engraved steel bangle with a floral relief around the face, an ivory resin bangle with two green cabochons, and a tortoise brown resin bangle with three white oval cabochons. Each is quoted per design.
What are the cabochons?
Flat-topped cabochons set in gold-tone bezels: green on the ivory bangle, white ovals on the tortoise one. Colour is matched to a sample before a run, and we confirm the shade you want at quotation.
Do they open?
No. All three are hard bangles with no hinge and no clasp, so they are slipped over the hand and ordered to the inner diameter you sell rather than to a wrist measurement.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a China-based B2B fashion jewellery supplier with our own design, sourcing and quality-control team, and we do not own a factory. The benches your order runs on belong to partner production lines in Guangdong that we work with directly and visit during your production. We publish no factory address, floor area, headcount or founding year, because those numbers describe a plant rather than the service you are buying. Ask any supplier this question, and check whether the answer matches the paperwork you get.
