This is a range of three 18K gold PVD necklace designs. The first is a fine link chain dotted with round clear stones, spaced so the chain stays light. The second is a horseshoe — a small U-shaped pendant set with clear stones — hung on a fine chain. The third is a Y-style chain: the links drop through a series of open rings and the line closes with a T-bar, so it reads as a lariat rather than a plain chain.

The grade, in plain terms
Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.
Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. If your market needs documentation with the goods, tell us and we will confirm what is available on this design before you order.

The stones are clear. They are set as clear stones rather than a named gem, and they are quoted by grade, so tell us the stone you want and we confirm it at quote.
Do I have to order all three designs?
No. Each design is quoted as its own line, so you can take the horseshoe pendant alone or the T-bar Y-chain alone. Ask us for a quote and we will confirm which are in production now.
What is PVD, and will it wear?
The gold is bonded to the steel in a vacuum chamber (PVD, also called ion plating), which is harder-wearing than a simple dipped finish. The layer thickness is quoted per micron, so you set the wear your market needs.
Will it tarnish or irritate skin?
No. The range is 316L stainless steel, which does not tarnish and is hypoallergenic for most wearers. 316L is the molybdenum-bearing grade, so it resists rust far better than 304 or 201; see the private label page for marking options.
