About this engravable bar pendant necklace
A bar pendant is a personalisation product: the customer buys a line of text on a surface, so the bar and the mark are all that matter. Steel takes a crisper laser mark than silver, and because it does not tarnish, the fine lettering stays legible without the customer ever polishing it.
The chain matters as much as the bar. A heavy chain overwhelms a slim pendant and turns it from a personal piece into a noisy one, so we quote the pendant and the chain separately and let you specify the pairing rather than accepting a default. For a bar of this size our usual recommendation is a fine box or rope chain.

Sizes and how we set them
A bar pendant hangs from a top loop, so chain length sets where the bar sits rather than how it hangs. 45–50 cm places a 30 mm bar on the chest bone in most markets; a shorter chain risks the bar sitting on the collarbone and lying flat. Confirm the length against the bar size on the drawing before the run is approved.

Questions about this engravable bar pendant necklace
Can you engrave our own artwork or coordinates?
Yes. Send the text, the coordinates or a vector logo and we mark the approved sample before the run continues, so you see the line weight on the actual bar rather than on a screen. Laser gives the crispest edge for small lettering, which is why we mark steel rather than cast the text into it. Depth and coverage decide the marking cost, so it is quoted as its own line.
Does the pendant come with the chain?
It can, but we quote the chain separately so you are not paying for one you did not specify. Most buyers take this bar on a fine box or rope chain in the 45–50 cm range. If you are building a layered range, buy the pendants alone and pair them with two or three chain widths instead of locking one chain to every pendant.
Will the engraving wear off or react to sweat?
No. Laser marking removes or fuses a shallow layer of the steel surface rather than printing on it, so there is nothing to rub off, and the 316L underneath does not tarnish or discolour. The piece can be worn in the shower and in the sea. The only thing to note is that on a coated bar the mark sits in the coating, so if you want a lifelong finish, order the bar in bare steel.
