About this cz star & moon necklaces

This listing holds three designs built on the same eight-point star. One is a single large star on its own chain; one pairs a crescent moon with a star resting against it; and one drops three stars in a row down the chain for a layered look. 316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Are the stones natural?

No. Every design is set with cubic zirconia, not a natural stone, so colour and size stay even across a run.

What grade of steel is it, and is it implant grade?

316L stainless steel, the grade family specified for surgical implants under ASTM F138. We state the grade rather than the loose term 'surgical steel', and we confirm the alloy on the line. It is hypoallergenic and largely non-magnetic.

Will the gold wear off?

We do not put a year figure on the finish, because how long it lasts depends on wear and on plating thickness. The colour is 18K gold PVD, bonded in a vacuum chamber over the steel, and thickness is quoted per micron if you need a heavier layer.
