About this layered star necklaces

This is one listing of four separate layering necklaces, not one piece. The first is a twisted rope chain, made by braiding the links so the chain reads as a cord. The second is a safety pin pendant, its shaft set with clear stones. The third is a horseshoe pendant with a single clear stone at its centre. The fourth is a Y-chain that drops a line of three eight-point stars. They are cut to sit at different lengths and stack, so a store can build a layered display from one order.

Because it is one listing, you choose the designs you want and we quote per design; there is no need to take all four. 316L stainless steel	The chains and pendants are 316L stainless steel — a marine-grade alloy with molybdenum at roughly 2-3% and chromium at 16-18%, which is why they do not tarnish and are safe against skin for daily wear. We name the grade rather than calling it a vague 'surgical steel'.
Clear stones	The stones in the pin, the horseshoe and the stars are set as clear stones, not a named stone and not a natural stone, so the shade stays even across a run.
18K gold PVD	The gold is 18K gold PVD, bonded in a vacuum chamber over the steel; plating thickness is quoted per micron.

316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. If your market needs documentation with the goods, tell us and we will confirm what is available on this design before you order.

Questions about this layered star necklaces

Do I have to order all four designs?

No. Each design is quoted as its own line, so you can take the rope chain alone or the star Y-chain alone. The listing simply holds them together; ask us for a quote on the designs you want and we confirm which are in production now.

What kind of stones are these?

They are listed as clear stones, not as a named stone and not as a natural stone. Tell us what your market requires and we confirm the size, colour and setting per design when we quote.

What grade of steel is it, and is it hypoallergenic?

The chains and pendants are 316L stainless steel, the same grade family sold as SUS316L. It is hypoallergenic for most wearers and does not react with skin; the nickel it contains, around 10-14%, is tightly bound in the alloy. A magnet is only a rough check, since 316L is largely non-magnetic.

Can I mix designs in one order?

Yes. Each of the four necklaces is quoted as its own line, so a mixed run is normal. Ask us for a quote on the designs you want and we confirm which are in production now.

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
