About this cz disc and oval bracelet

The pattern is the design: two shapes, alternating, with nothing else on the circle. Five round cubic zirconia are set flush in plain gold-tone bezels, and between them run seven oval links with a soft dome and a high polish, so the bracelet alternates a bright faceted face with a plain mirror face. Every link is joined by a small ring, which keeps the line supple on the wrist rather than turning it into a stiff band.

Links and bezels are 316L stainless steel, the grade family also sold as SUS316L, so the bracelet does not tarnish and is hypoallergenic for everyday wear. The stones are cubic zirconia, not a natural stone, so the size and the cut stay even across a run and a reorder. The gold is a gold tone plating over the steel, with plating thickness quoted per micron.

316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. How many stones are on the bracelet?

Five round cubic zirconia, each flush set in a plain gold-tone bezel, alternating with seven polished oval links. The alternation is fixed, so the count stays the same whatever length you order.

What are the stones?

Cubic zirconia, round and flush set. It is a laboratory material rather than a natural stone, so the size and the cut stay consistent from piece to piece and from run to run.

What grade of steel is it, and is it hypoallergenic?

Links and bezels are 316L stainless steel, the same grade family sold as SUS316L. It is hypoallergenic for most wearers and does not react with skin. It does contain nickel, around 10-14%, tightly bound in the alloy, so it stays low-sensitising for most wearers.

How does it fasten, and can the fit be adjusted?

On a lobster claw with an extender chain, so the wearer has a short adjustment beyond the base length. We set the base length and the extender length separately when we quote, so both can be matched to what your market sells.
