About this two-tone pavé bar bracelet

This is a bracelet built on two colours of the same metal. The chain body is a fine silver-tone link; at the front two gold-tone oval links meet, and a bar set with a row of small cubic zirconia crosses between them, so the pavé bar sits at the centre of the wrist. The clasp and the extension chain carry the gold tone too, and the extension ends in a single bezel-set cubic zirconia, so the two finishes are deliberate rather than incidental.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design.
