About this imitation pearl & pin bracelet

This is a single design. White beads run the length of the strand, and in the middle sits a gold-tone safety pin: the pin body is set with small stones and its loop holds a separate star charm, also set with stones, that hangs below the wrist line. The beads are imitation pearl, a coated bead rather than a grown pearl, and the stones are rhinestone, so nothing here is sold as a natural material.

The metal parts — the pin, the star, the beads' links and the clasp — are 316L stainless steel, the low-carbon grade also sold as SUS316L. That choice is what keeps a charm bracelet wearable: 316L is hypoallergenic for most wearers, does not tarnish, and resists rust, so the piece survives showers and daily wear without turning the wrist green. The gold colour is electroplated rather than a vacuum-bonded layer, so we quote the plating thickness per order instead of claiming a set layer.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Questions about this imitation pearl & pin bracelet

Are the beads real pearls?

No. They are imitation pearl beads — a coated bead. We name them as imitation pearl rather than a grown pearl so your listing matches what arrives.

What are the stones in the pin and the star?

Rhinestone — faceted glass or acrylic. We say so rather than upgrading the claim.

Can I wear it in the shower or at the pool?

The 316L steel findings are tarnish-free and do not rust, so water is not the problem it would be on brass. The plating is electroplated gold, though, and the beads are coated, so we advise taking it off for a hot pool or saltwater to keep the finish at its best.

Is the pin a real safety pin?
