About this eight-point star bracelets

This listing holds two bracelets, so it is quoted per design. The first is a light fine chain with a single eight-point star, whose face is set with clear stones that fan out along the points. The second is a round-link chain — a rodo-style link rather than a fine cable — carrying two of the same star, spaced so they sit either side of the wrist. A layered styling shot in the gallery shows both worn together, which is how they are most often sold.

Both bracelets are 316L stainless steel, the grade also written SUS316L in trade listings. That matters on a chain that takes knocks, because 316L has molybdenum 2–3% and chromium 16–18%, which keeps it from rusting or tarnishing the way 304 or 201 can, and it is hypoallergenic for most wearers. The gold colour is electroplated rather than a vacuum-bonded layer, so tell us the plating thickness you work to and we will quote it as a line.

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. What stone is in the star?

Clear faceted stones. The star is not described with a stone species on our side, so we write clear stones; if you need a specific stone named and quoted, ask us.

Will the plating wear off?

It is an electroplated gold layer on 316L steel. The steel itself is tarnish-free and does not rust, so the bracelet stays wearable even if the gold tone softens. We do not quote a colour-life in years; plating thickness is a quote line.
