Will the gold tone wear off?
The steel underneath will not tarnish, so the only thing that ages is the gold coating, and that is why we state its thickness in microns on the quotation. A thin run is a seasonal piece; a thicker run is an everyday piece. Tell us how long you want the piece to look new and we will quote the plating to match, rather than inherit whatever was run.
Are the stones secure?
They are seated and held across the face rather than pressed into a rough seat, which is the common failure on a stone-set bracelet. Because a bracelet is knocked against a watch and a desk all day, the setting is checked on the approved sample before the run continues.
Can it be worn in water?
The steel core is fine in water and does not rust, and the stone setting is not affected by a shower or a swim. The gold plating is the part that ages with friction over time; if you want a piece with nothing to wear, order the same design unplated in bare steel.
