These are dome rings: a wide, rounded band cast in moulded resin, topped with a stone cabochon in a gold-toned steel bezel. The resin gives the ring its bulk without the weight of a metal band, and it is self-coloured, so the brown, ivory and black read as solid colour rather than a surface finish.

It is a three-piece set — one ring in each colour — and the listing is quoted per set. Nothing here is a natural resin or amber: the domes are a synthetic moulded resin, and the only stone is the cabochon set in the bezel. 316L

The grade, in plain terms

Every design on this page is made in 316L stainless steel — the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, and the same grade specified for surgical implants and marine fittings. The “L” is low carbon, which is what keeps chain links and hollow forms sound at the joins.

Grades are worth stating rather than implying, because 316L, 304 and 201 look identical in a photograph and differ by real money per tonne. We name the grade on every design. Is the brown ring amber?

No. Every dome in this set is moulded resin, a synthetic material self-coloured through the piece. Nothing here is amber, horn or a natural resin.

How many rings are in this set, and how is it quoted?

This listing is a three-piece set — a brown, an ivory and a black — and it is quoted per set. If you want a single colour, that can be quoted on its own line.

How is this different from your wide multi-band ring?
