A spinner ring is bought for a behaviour, not a look. The customer wants something to turn when their hands are idle, so the only things that matter are how freely the centre band spins and how quietly it does it. Get the clearance wrong and it either seizes up or rattles.
We cut the centre channel slightly deeper than a standard band so the spinner clears the outer ring, then finish the running surfaces rather than leaving them as cast. The result is a ring that spins with light finger pressure and stays quiet at a desk.

A spinner needs a little more room than a plain band, because the centre ring has to clear the finger as it turns. Order half a size up from your usual run unless your customer expects a snug fit, and confirm the size against a physical gauge before the run is approved.

Questions about this fidget spinner ring
Will the spinner seize up or rattle?
It is set by the running clearance we machine into the channel, so we specify it on the drawing rather than leaving it to chance. Too tight and the piece seizes once it picks up dust; too loose and it rattles. We test the action on the approved sample: light finger pressure should turn it, and it should not knock when shaken. If your market is sensitive to noise, tell us and we will build to the quiet end of the range.
Is it comfortable to wear all day?
Yes, with one caveat. The band is wider and heavier than a plain ring, so it takes a day to get used to, and the spinning centre can feel odd against the neighbouring finger. We keep the outer band at 2.0 mm or above and round the inside edge so it does not dig in. Most customers wear it on the index or thumb, where the extra width sits better than on a ring finger.
Does the movement wear the finish?
The running surfaces are the one place where a coating wears first, because they rub against each other constantly. That is why we recommend either unplated steel on the spinner, or a PVD layer rather than an electroplated one: PVD bonds in a vacuum and is harder, so it holds up longer under friction. We state the coating thickness in microns on the quotation so the claim is checkable.
