A textured band is slightly less forgiving than a plain one, because the pattern sits at the widest point of the surface. Order your usual size for a 3–5 mm band, and half a size up above 6 mm, where more of the circumference is in contact with the finger.

Questions about this cable-texture band ring
Will the cable pattern look identical on every piece?
Yes — this one is cut into the band after casting against a fixed pattern, so it repeats exactly across the run and across reorders. That is the advantage over hand-hammering, where every piece differs. If you actually want the irregular hand-hammered look, we would quote that in silver instead, because the softer metal takes the impression more cleanly than steel.
Does the texture weaken the band?
Only if it is cut too deep, which is why we set a minimum band thickness of 1.8 mm and keep the relief shallow. The pattern is decorative, not structural, so the ring keeps its full resistance to everyday bending. A plain 316L band the same width would behave the same way; the texture does not change how the ring wears.
Is plain steel or plated better for this ring?
For a texture ring we often recommend leaving it unplated. A polished cable face in bare 316L never needs retouching, whereas a coating on a raised pattern wears first at the highest points. If you want a gold or black look, choose PVD over electroplating: PVD bonds in a vacuum and is harder, so it survives the friction on the raised twist far better.
