A charm is the cheapest personalisation you can add to a range, because it sells to a customer who already has the chain. A single initial is the version that needs no explanation: it turns a plain necklace into something with the wearer's name on it, and it can be added to almost any chain up to 3 mm without changing the chain itself.
The two details that decide whether it reorders are the jump ring and the letter. The ring must be soldered closed, not just bent shut, because an unsoldered ring is how a charm gets lost and a lost charm is a complaint, not a sale. Questions about this engravable initial charm
Can I order a mixed alphabet rather than one letter?
Yes, and it is the usual way to buy this charm. Because letter frequency is uneven — E, A, M and S move fastest while Q, X and Z barely turn — a balanced pack leaves you with dead stock. Send the counts per letter and we will quote and produce to that breakdown. There is no tooling difference between letters, so the price per unit does not change with the mix.
How is the charm attached?
On a jump ring that we solder closed, sized to fit any chain or bracelet up to 3 mm. A ring that is only bent shut can open under normal wear, and a charm that comes off becomes a complaint rather than a repeat sale. If you prefer a fixed charm that cannot be moved, we can integrate the loop into the blank instead of adding a ring.
Does an engraved charm tarnish?
Yes, silver does — the lettering itself is fine, but the polished face will darken over time in air, faster in humid or coastal markets. A rhodium flash slows it and keeps the lettering crisp, or an oxidised letter over a polished face makes the contrast part of the design so the change is less visible. Both are quoted as their own lines.
