About this pavé heart charm
A plain silver heart is a commodity: every supplier has one and the customer compares on price. Setting a field of stones across the face changes the category of the product. It photographs as a small piece of jewellery rather than a token, which is what lets a charm sell at a gift price instead of an add-on price.
The setting is where the cost and the risk both sit. Small stones on a curved face have to be seated so the stones follow the curve without lifting at the edges, and on a charm, unlike a flat band, that curvature is in two directions. Questions about this pavé heart charm
Why is a set heart more than a plain one?
Because the stones and the bench time are a second product on top of the blank. The silver heart is cast and finished like any charm; then every seat is cut into a curved face and each stone is set by hand. Setting a two-way curve is slower than a flat band, which is why we quote the setting pass as its own line rather than folding it into the charm price.
What stone size should I choose?
For a 10 mm heart, 1.0–1.2 mm stones give a fine, even field; for 14 mm, 1.5–1.8 mm reads better because fewer, larger stones sit level on the curve. The trade-off is real: larger stones mean fewer stones but more setting time each, and a bigger cap on how much of the face can be covered. Tell us the look you are selling and we will cost two specifications side by side.
Can the heart be engraved on the back?
Yes, a short line or a date fits on the back of the 12 and 14 mm hearts. We would keep it short, because the blank is thin and a deep engraving on the reverse can print through to the set face. If the message is longer than a few characters, we would recommend the initial charm instead, which has more room for lettering.
