A cable chain is the simplest link there is — oval rings interlocked at a right angle — and that simplicity is why it costs less than any other chain style at the same weight. For a silver range it is the natural entry piece: it stacks with everything, it survives being worn every day, and it does not date, so the fashion pieces around it can turn over while this one stays.
The specification that matters is weight, because in silver the metal is most of the cost. A 1.5 mm cable at 18 cm and a 3 mm at 20 cm look like two grades of the same product and carry quite different amounts of silver, so we quote them per line rather than at an average. The clasp is the second decision: a lobster clasp sized to the chain, or a box clasp with a figure-of-eight safety on a heavier build.

Bracelet length is a fit decision, not a technical one. 18 cm is the volume seller in most markets; 16–17 cm suits a smaller wrist or a younger customer; 19–20 cm reads as a looser men's or unisex fit. In silver, length changes the weight as well as the fit, so a longer bracelet is a different metal cost, not a free variation.

Questions about this sterling cable chain bracelet
Why is a cable chain cheaper than a rope or a box chain?
Because of how the links lock together. A cable link is a plain oval ring closed on itself; a rope chain is formed from links twisted into a spiral, and a box chain folds each link into a square profile. More forming steps per centimetre means a higher unit cost at the same weight. If you want the cheapest reliable bracelet in silver, the cable is the answer, and we will say so even when a heavier style would quote higher.
What length should I stock first?
18 cm for a single stock length, then add 16 cm if your customer skews younger and small. Bracelet fit is more sensitive than necklace fit, because a wrist has no room for a chain to hang — a length that is wrong by 2 cm becomes a return rather than a styling choice. If you can carry only one, 18 cm with a short extension covers the widest range of wrists.
Will a plain silver chain tarnish?
Yes. Silver reacts with sulphur in the air and darkens over time, faster in humid or coastal markets and slower in dry ones. A rhodium flash slows the change and keeps the piece looking clean, which is usually what a plain silver bracelet is bought for. The flash is quoted as its own line, and we can run half an order flashed and half raw if you want to test which sells better in your market.
