An ID bracelet is sold on the plate, so the plate is where the specification work happens. Length, width and thickness decide how a line of text sits: too narrow and a date wraps awkwardly, too thin and a deep stamp distorts the back. We file the face flat and confirm the lettering on a drawing before the run, because an engraved plate cannot be reworked — it can only be remade.
Because every unit usually carries different text, this is one of the few pieces where laser engraving beats hand-stamping on a real order. Laser holds a small font and a logo mark cleanly and each unit can differ without a new die; hand-stamping gives a deeper, softer impression but suits short, simple lettering. An ID bracelet is ordered a little closer than a plain chain, because a heavy plate that swings will turn over on the wrist. As a starting point take half a centimetre off the chain-bracelet length your customer normally wears, and tell us the plate weight so we can set the balance.

Questions about this engravable id bracelet
Can every piece carry different text?
Yes, and on this design that is normal rather than a special case. Laser engraving reads from a file, so each unit can carry its own name or date with no recurring tooling. The only cost is a setup and a first-piece approval. Send the list in a spreadsheet and we will engrave line for line; that is why this bracelet suits personalised retail far better than a stamped plate does.
Will the engraving wear off?
Not in normal use. Laser and hand-stamp both move metal rather than print on it, so the lettering is in the surface — the one thing that can affect it is a soft, thin plate that is engraved too deep. That is why we set a minimum plate thickness of 1.0 mm behind the engraving, and why we check the depth on the drawing first.
Can you engrave a logo as well as text?
Yes. Send a vector file and we will confirm the smallest legible size for the lettering, because a wide line collapses when a plate is scaled down. If the mark is detailed we will often recommend the 10–12 mm plate width so the logo keeps its readability, and we will quote the larger plate separately so the choice is yours.
