Will the stone fall out?
Not if the setting is done properly, which is where we put the effort: the seat is cut level and the prongs are closed by hand rather than pressed in a die, so the stone is held evenly on all sides. Cubic zirconia itself is consistent and inexpensive, so it is rarely the problem — a loose or uneven setting is what fails. We check the setting on the approved sample before the run.
Are the posts safe for sensitive ears?
Yes. 316L contains no copper to leach and does not tarnish, so it does not discolour the lobe or the stone. For a market that asks for the number, we can arrange EN 1811 nickel-release testing — it measures nickel released from the surface rather than nickel in the alloy, with a threshold of 0.5 µg/cm²/week for items in prolonged skin contact. Testing is quoted as its own line.
What stone size should I order?
2–3 mm for the everyday stud and the lowest price point, 4–5 mm for the size that reads clearly as a stone in a photograph, and 6 mm for a statement stud. A larger stone changes the setting cost as well as the stone cost, so the jump is more than the difference in the stone alone.
