Overview
The hoop is the earring that shows a casting at its best. A good chunky hoop is a smooth, even tube with no seam and a consistent curve, and that is exactly what casting delivers — the metal fills the mould in one piece, so the hoop has none of the joins or flat spots a formed hoop can carry. It is also the shape customers buy most, in every price band.
The fair note is the weight. A solid chunky hoop is heavier than a hollow one, and on a long-wearing earring that difference is felt by the end of the day, so on the larger diameters we will offer either a solid hoop for the feel or a hollow one for comfort. The other note is the skin: we build the posts and backs in stainless steel, which is nickel-free, because that is where an earring touches skin most closely.
