How adjustable is it?
Enough to cover the fingers a novelty ring is usually worn on, which is why we sell it as a range rather than a set of sizes. Each piece is opened or closed a little to fit; tell us the size spread you sell to and we will set the run so the band can reach both ends without being worked so far that it loses its grip.
Will the plating wear where the band flexes?
That is the one spot that works hardest, which is why this ring is plated in a vacuum furnace rather than in a tank: the coating bonds harder and resists the friction on the open ends better. We state the thickness in microns on the quotation. If you want a piece with nothing to wear through at all, order the same design in bare steel.
Can it be worn in the sea?
Yes. 316L resists sweat, salt water and sunscreen and contains no copper to leach, so it does not tarnish, rust or mark the finger. That is why we build a beach-motif ring in steel rather than a plated base metal that discolours after a holiday.
