The ring is cast as an open band: the back is left unsoldered so the opening can be eased wider or closed down by hand. Questions about this resin open ring, adjustable
Can the ring be resized by the customer?
Yes. The back of the band is left open, so it can be opened or closed by hand. We recommend telling the buyer to move it in small steps rather than forcing it, because the plating is at its most vulnerable where the band flexes.
Is the setting real stone?
The black setting is a polished black stone; the coloured faces are cast resin. Tell us if you need a specified stone and we will quote it as a separate line.
Can you supply it in fixed sizes instead?
Yes. The open band is a stock shape, but the same face can be cast onto a closed shank. Send us the size run you want and we will quote it.
Will the plating wear at the opening?
It is the one place on the piece that moves, so it is worth specifying a heavier plating if the ring is going to be adjusted often. Plating thickness is quoted per micron.
