About this disc and teardrop studs
This stud is two pieces joined by a small ring at the centre. The upper piece is a solid disc, lightly domed so it catches light across its face. The lower piece repeats the form as an open outline — a line-drawn teardrop rather than a filled plate — so the earring reads as weight above and light below.
The open contour is the point of the piece: because the lower shape is a frame and not a solid, the stud sits light on the ear and shows a run of negative space against skin or hair. Both pieces are 316L stainless steel, shown here in gold tone, and the same design can be run in steel tone.
